1) Patient preparation: Blockers, vasodilators, diuretics, steroids and licorice affect the level of renin in the body. PRA should be measured 2 weeks after drug withdrawal. Drugs with slow metabolism should be measured 3 weeks after drug withdrawal. Patients who should not stop taking guanidine and other antihypertensive drugs with less impact on PRA.
